George Baah-Danquah is a seasoned treasury and investment banker, accounting and finance professional, management and governance consultant, and lecturer. He has held executive management roles in banking with responsibility for treasury and investments, asset–liability management, risk management, financial reporting, budgeting, and budgetary control. His career began at Stanbic Bank in the finance function and has since led treasury and investment functions such as FX and fixed income trading, ALM, remittances, and sales teams at Stanbic Bank, Access Bank, and ADB.
He has over three decades of academic and professional training experience, having lectured at graduate and undergraduate levels at the University of Ghana Business School and Methodist University. He has also trained professional accountants and bankers at the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana and the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana.
George has consulted for leading institutions including KPMG, PwC, GCB Bank and Development Bank Ghana on national and sub-regional assignments covering banking reforms, sovereign cash management, central bank internal audit, human capital development, credit assessment and pricing, and business process management.
He holds a PhD and master’s degree in Finance, and a BSc in Administration (Accounting) all from the University of Ghana. He is a Fellow of ICAG and holds ACI Dealing and Operations Certificates from the Financial Markets Association (France), and from GSE/GISI in Securities and Investment. He is also a member or fellow of a number of professional bodies, including IIA, IoD-Ghana, CIAMC, CITLFA, CICT and CIFM (USA).
